Scioto Valley Loses Hall-of-Famer

January 9, 2005, Dublin, Ohio – Scott V. Panyard, 41, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at his residence from natural causes.

Scott was born June 14, 1963, in Orrville to Herm and Jackie (DeMartini) Panyard and was a 1981 graduate of Orrville High School, where he was active in wrestling and cross country. In 1986, he graduated from Ohio University, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He was business development manager for Nydic Open MRI of America in Columbus.

Scott was an avid rugby player and was a former captain and president of the Scioto Valley Rugby Club. He was a member of the Ohio select side, Midwest Thunderbirds and played on the USA Cougars. He coached high school rugby in Scioto Valley and was inducted into the Scioto Valley Hall of Fame.

Surviving are his parents of Orrville; a brother, Shawn (Cathy) Panyard and a niece, Julia Panyard, all of Rocky River; and a sister-in-law, Bethany Panyard of Marysville.

A brother, Stephen P. Panyard, died in 1994.
