May 7, 2009, Vancouver, BC - May 9 at the Brockton Oval in Vancouver will see eight teams play for various provincial titles, including one American club.

With the Brit Lions RFC the only club at Brockton this Saturday, May 9 with a provincial title already to their name, there are guaranteed to be at least eight different clubs winning BC Rugby Senior Provincial titles in 2009.

Brockton Oval in Stanley Park will provide the venue for four fixtures this Saturday. Provincial Champions in the Men's Division III and Independent divisions will start the day off at 11:00 AM when Capilano (DIII Champion) and the Kats (Independent Champion) feature in a challenge match. At 12:30 PM the Province-Wide Men's Division II title will be on the line as Richmond RFC takes on Seattle RFC. It’s a big game for the USA-based team, which has to cross the border for half their games. They downed the Brit Lions DII side 24-10 last weekend. Seattle’s DI side finished 5-5 in the league.

Kamloops RFC and Cowichan Rugby Club will kick off at 2:00 PM for the right to hoist the Karen Moore Cup awarded to the winner of the Women's Division I title match. Seattle came close to making the women's final, too, beating SFU 29-12 in the quarters before losing 17-10 to Kamloops in the semis.

Rounding out a full day or rugby will be Kelowna RFC versus Brit Lions RFC who will be vying for the Men's Province Wide Division I title.  Kick-off is set for 3:30 PM.
General Admission to Brockton is $10 and $5 for youth.
