Friday Jun 12, 2009 in Grassroots Rugby Youth
East Stroudsburg, Pa. - In its eighth year and running from July 9th through July 12th the East Stroudsburg Rugby Player Development Camp continues a tradition of promoting the sport of rugby and exposing young rugby athletes to an all-star staff of USA National and International level coaches.
Again sponsored by Rugby Imports, the Player Development Camp is open to high school and collegiate males and females at all levels and abilities. There are campers with absolutely no experience who just want an introduction to the sport all the way up to seasoned rugby athletes who want to further develop their skills. The Rugby Player Development Camp offers instruction to suit every need.
This camp is designed to expose young rugby athletes to higher levels of coaching and thereby foster development of both individual and team skills. The camp curriculum consists of the most current skills and theories taught by USA Rugby certified coaches, including National Team coaches, athletes and instructors.
Benefits that campers will receive include: an official Camp Jersey & T-shirt, sessions on the Predator Training Machine, four days of instruction by USA Rugby’s best Coaches and Instructors, a complete Player Profile Evaluation, an opportunity to measure him/herself against other players in their region, an opportunity to be evaluated by National level coaches for higher honors and participation on representative teams, college advisement, and position-specific work/unit & team skills.
Also teams who attend the camp together will receive beneficial team-building development. Players will be able to work on individual growth as well as strategies to help the squad work together as an effective unit. The player development camp is a great way to bring teammates together in a learning environment to gain essential success skills. There are discounts available for five or more team members who register together.
The four day schedule includes ample “skills & drills”, chalkboard work, video analysis, and meals culminating with Sunday Scrimmages observed by parents.
