May 30, 2009 - Northern State made it to the DIII national final with a 37-12 defeat of Danbury Saturday in Glendale, Colo.

Danbury coach Scott Marinich said his players did their best, but were beaten fair and square.

“The boys played hard,” Marinich said. “We didn’t know anything about them. It was a big surprise how big and fast they were. Still we kept it close until the last ten minutes. I don’t think we made a lot of errors, but Northern State capitalized on every single mistake we did make.”
