Poughkeepsie, NY - The Vassar Women opened their 2009-10 divisional season with a solid win over Providence College.

The Brewers scored seven tries, four converted, to win 43-14, with Keri Peacock notching four.

After a jittery start center Willa Conway found her feet and churned up the hard yards getting the Brewers over the gain line. The forwards laid a decent platform and that allowed Peacock to distribute well. Peacock, of course, was also able to see some gaps for herself and was dangerous on the attack.

Vassar College Women 43 v Providence College Women 14

Tries: Lorraine DeGraffenreidt (2), Keri Peacock (4), Alyssa Bell (1).

Cons: Kate Hancock (4).
