In Competitive Region 2 of the women’s DI club competition, we now know the final four teams left.

Chicago North Shore lost to Chicago 15-13 this weekend, although that wasn’t enough to unseat North Shore from first place.

(Note: we had this wrong before due to a misunderstanding on an email. Following is correct.)

Meanwhile Detroit defeated Wisconsin 38-0 to finish second.

Chicago North Shore and Detroit will now travel to Glendale to take on the top two teams from the West RFU.

Their season was this weekend.

On Saturday Glendale defeated St. Louis 37-7 and Austin beat the Black Ice 34-15 in the semis.

On Sunday, Black Ice edged St. Louis for third. Glendale took top seed by defeating Austin 38-10.

So Detroit, North Shore, Glendale and Austin will play off for the four seeds to the national playoffs.

In CR3, two weekend remain to determine the top teams. Atlanta leads, with NOVA second, but with a game in hand.

Atlanta beat Orland 41-0 this weekend, and Philadelphia did themselves all sort of favors with a 31-17 defeat of Boston.

All this sets up the national playoff picture. The top team from CR1 and CR2 each get a bye to the national quarterfinals. Also getting a bye are the top two teams from CR3.

Eight other teams make the first round – three each from CR1 and CR3, and two from CR2.
