Former Bucknell Player Dies While Jogging
Saturday Aug 8, 2009 in Off the Field General

Former Bucknell University rugby club president Mary Katherine Ladany was killed by a falling branch from a tree as she jogged through Fairmount Park in Philadelphia last week.
A popular and respected member of the Bucknell club (she graduated in 2008) Ladany was a coach and assistant director in the university campus activities department and was described as a tough, physical player who off the field was kind and warm.
She was working as a teacher and by all accounts was successful at it. Ladany taught math at the Murrell Dobbins Career and Technical Education High School in Philadelphia.
A private funeral will be held Tuesday in her hometown of Montclair, NJ.
Alumnae from her sorority, Delta Gamma, in the Philadelphia area are working to establish a Delta Gamma scholarship in memory of Ladany.
