Georgetown defeated The University of Virginia, 17-5, in a night game Saturday in Georgetown. The Hoyas consistently applied the defensive pressure, scored first and rode their defense to a victory.

Scrumhalf Brian Litwak led all scorers with seven points from two conversions and a penalty goal while inside center Mike Wrotniak scored on an interception and fullback Brock Magruder also touched down.

Stony Brook University has started their fall campaign well, beating Vassar this past weekend for their third straight victory.

Their dynamic offense has scored 133 points while a stingy defense has limited opponents to only ten.

Against Vassar, the Seawolves shut out the Brewers despite committing way too many penalties and earning three yellow cards.

Still the Seawolves were able to exploit Vassar's over commitment to rucks and spread the ball out for several tries, while Jasper Wilson notched his second straight game without missing a kick.

“We have put a lot of hard work in over the summer and in the past two years to get to this point. With over 60 guys at every practice things are starting to come together,” said Wilson.

“Having various players return to their positions more experienced and dedicated, along with a long summer of 7s and training, the players are starting to work as a unit and understand their role on the team,” added coach Danny Yarusso.

In New England, defending national champions Middlebury had to work for it over UVM. Boston University and Rhode Island both moved to 2-0.
