Metropolis continued their good start in the Midwest DI league with a 50-11 win over Milwaukee Westside Harlequins Saturday.

The victory allowed the Minneapolis club to stay within shouting distance of Western Conference leaders Pearl City, but there is still plenty of rugby to be played.

Pearl City hammered the Chicago Lions 60-0. The Bears were led by an outstanding performance by their forwards. Openside flanker Mike Bunce showed a high work rate in a convincing game for Pearl City.

The Detroit Tradesmen are standing clear on top of the Midwest Eastern Conference after a big away victory over the Cincinnati Wolfhounds by a to-be-confirmed score of 35-15.

“They came out hard and we were flat,” said Cincinnati coach Nick Lauterbach. “Detroit are a good, strong team and they took it to us. We have just a few things to fix, but it was frustrating because we can play better.”

Indiananapolis and Buffalo went into this weekend both 0-1. Indy won 15-10, but Buffalo was able to pick up a bonus point for a close loss.
