May 24, 2009 – Continuing their astounding season, Life University won the second semifinal of the 2009 Super League season, defeating Belmont Shore 25-3 Sunday afternoon in Marietta, Ga.

In what Belmont Shore head coach Matthew Webber called “a good lesson in rugby” Life stifled the Shore attack, handing the Southern California team their first loss of the season.

In muddy conditions, Life had the run of play and really didn’t let Shore get going.

“A very good performance by Life all around,” said Webber. “We had our chances and they suffocated us to death.”

This was Life's 9th straight win in this, their first Super League season since 2002. Life was asked to replace St. Louis at very late notice, and didn't miss a beat. Life won the Super League championship in 2000.

This will be Belmont Shore's first season where they miss the championship game since 2001. Shore was in the league final seven straight years, 2002-2008, as well as 1998 and 1999

Overall they've been champions a record four times.
